Shelly Livery Stable

This livery stable dates back to pioneer days in southwestern Oklahoma where my grandfather and great grandfather broke the sod and set up homesteads near the town of Corn. In 1999, I was excited to discover the building where they had stabled their horses while attending church or picking up mail. The stable was torn down the following year.

Mountain Barn

My grandson, Conlan, took a picture of this barn from a moving train in the mountains of western North Carolina. Later, I painted an 8" x 10" acrylic on paper for him as a Christmas present. It was almost as if we had jumped off the train and hiked up the mountain for a close view of the barn.

Heron in City Park

Two beautiful great blue herons have spent the summer at the pond in the Four Colonies City Park in Crystal Lake, Illinois. I painted this 11" x 14" acrylic on canvas after watching them sun, fish and soar into the surrounding trees. This painting is not for sale, but I am painting a similar one on 14" x 18" stretched canvas which I will post when it is finished.
