This is a doorway with an intriguing design on the Greek Island of Santorini which I painted in oil, with permission, from a photo by Christine Kramer. I would love to sit in the sun on those stairs.
I developed a love for a diversity of landscapes and buildings while living in many states, as well as in Canada and Europe. Recently I have studied art under Mary Telfer Holden, Johanna Gullick, Lynn Lourie and Anita Gordon. When I paint a scene, I am feeling again the mood I experienced in a particular place.
I like to paint from photos I have taken, sometimes combining several to create a specific ambience, and sometimes altering colors to suggest a different mood. I invite viewers to step in and experience their own feelings.
When creating abstract paintings, I focus on clarity of colors as well as balance and motion in the interaction of colors.
